Screen time you can feel good about

Deenlumo is built for one age band, 6 to 8, with short stories, gentle practice and a grown-ups area that tells you what your child is actually learning.

How learning works

Every skill goes round the same small loop, so it is met, practised and remembered.

  1. A short story

Your child helps a friend in a little adventure. Lumo reads every instruction aloud, so early readers can play.

  2. Gentle practice

The 8 games practise the same skill in new ways, from easy to trickier. Your child decides when to step up.

  3. Review when it is due

Skills come back after a few days, then a week, then longer. Lumo's Review puts the due skills first.

  4. Lumo's picks

Lumo suggests three things to play next, based on how each child is doing. Worked out on the device. Your child always chooses.

The grown-ups area showing learning progress for each adventure, a skill status such as Practised, and a Talk about it question.
Who's playing? Three explorers to choose from: Flower explorer, Drop explorer and Star explorer, each with their own stars.

What you see in the grown-ups area

  • Each skill shown as Practised, Remembering or Remembered
  • A "Talk about it" question for every adventure, to carry the lesson into family life
  • "Why Lumo picked this": the reason behind each suggestion
  • Minutes played today and over the last 7 days
  • Up to 3 children on one device, each with their own record

Healthy play, by design

We want children to enjoy Deenlumo and come back because they love it, not because the app pulls at them.

  • Breaks every 20 minutes

Lumo suggests a short break about every 20 minutes of play.

  • An optional daily limit

Off by default. When you set one and it is reached, play ends gently, nothing is lost, and only a grown-up can lift it.

  • No streaks, no leaderboards

Nothing to lose by missing a day, no countdowns and no timers in any game. Stars show finished activities, never a score of faith or behaviour.

  • Sound your way

Gentle music and sound effects, separate volumes for voice, music and effects, and a No music mode.

  • Calmer animations

A setting in the grown-ups area reduces movement on screen.

  • Your language, their language

English, French or Arabic with full right-to-left layout. Choose your child's learning language separately from yours.

A grown-ups check keeps settings away from little fingers

Settings, progress, the subscription and every link out of the app sit behind a short grown-ups check: a multiplication question. Children never see a price or a purchase button. When they reach a Family adventure, Lumo asks them to fetch a grown-up.

Safety and values

  • No ads, no analytics, no tracking and no third-party tools that collect data
  • No account and no login. We never ask for a child's name, age or photo
  • The app asks for no permissions: no camera, microphone, location or contacts
  • Progress stays on your device, and you can erase it at any time
  • No prophets or angels are ever drawn
  • Ordinary families with diverse skin tones and modest, everyday clothes
